After Jimmy Beedle’s death the Committee of the 43(F) Squadron (Fighting Cocks) Association decided to commission a trophy to be presented each year to a member of the Squadron - 43 ( F ) Squadron - still operational having been formed in 1916. After much discussion the design of the trophy was decided - it was to be in the form of a Single Blade of a Hurricane Propeller cast in Silver mounted on a stand. This was adjudged to be that which Jimmy would have chosen - 43 operated with Hurricanes from 1939 to 1943 and Jimmy was involved during all that time - in fact he was with Forty Three from 1939 until 1947 starting as a Leading Aircraftman and finishing in the rank of Flight Sergeant. The Squadron Commander at the time of Jimmy’s death was Wing Commander Andy Moir and he decided that the trophy should be presented to “The other rank” who had shown most effort and achievement working for the Squadron throughout the year" The very handsome trophy is kept in the Trophy cabinet of the Squadron. The recipient is presented with a copy of the book " 43(F) Squadron, The Fighting Cocks " written by Jimmy Beedle. Winners of the Trophy:
